ABOUT BRIAN

Brian grew up in Long Beach, Long Island. He always had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to ski, camp, hike, and swim with his Dad, Barney; his mom, Carol; his brothers, John and Tim; and he always had many friends. He worked for Centre Millwork for twenty years. That is where he realized that selling building materials and windows was what he enjoyed doing, and it was not just a job but a passion. He truly enjoyed helping people build their dream homes and assisting with any projects they had. Brian and I met and married in Long Beach, NY. He was always very persistent, and won my heart very quickly. That's how we ended up dating and then getting married. We have two wonderful daughters, Cassie and Kirsten. We lived with them in our first home together in Baldwin, NY, for 13 years until we moved up into the mountains 23 years ago this September.

That's where our next wonderful chapter began. Brian wanted to be up in the mountains and make every day an adventure with his family, which he did. He truly lived every day to the fullest. He enjoyed many activities, including skiing, biking, paddleboarding, snowshoeing, and many more. We would go out in the freezing cold or the blazing heat to make every day count. He wanted our children to experience all of the activities and raise them in the mountains that he loved so much.

He was always a huge fan of music and would always thoroughly explore an entire band's discography. He loved the Beatles the most, which he passed down to his daughters at a very young age. He always loved the live versions of songs and going to concerts. He really enjoyed going to see a band he had never seen before, and was very passionate about the messages that we can find in music.

He went on many interviews when we were going to move up to Tannersville. Brian walked into GNH Lumber after a day at Zoom Flume, probably in his bathing suit and interviewed with Stan Ingalls. They instantly hit it off, and Brian looked at me and said GNH Lumber feels like home to me. He was first the Manager at GNH in Windham, but soon realized that he was happier selling building materials and windows, and he excelled at it. He prided himself on taking care of each and every customer and securing the best price for them, regardless of the job's size or whether he was on vacation. Some became good friends over the years. Again, he was always persistent; he worked very hard to get new contractors to sell to. He wanted to help everyone on both sides of the mountain and would travel extensively to build new relationships and reach new customers.

When John Ingalls took over at GNH, Brian was thrilled to see Stan's legacy continue and always enjoyed working with John, Gen, Ed, Marion, Donald, James, and everyone at both stores.

Brian was a wonderful husband, father, best friend, and so much more. We miss him so much!!  Thank you to the Ingalls family, contractors, and everyone else for your support when we need it most! We really appreciate it.

Regards, Helen, Kirsten, Cassie and
Patrick (My favorite Son-in-law)

Unbridled Sanctuary Stall Project

In April 2021, GNH was proud to contribute building materials for this new stall at the Unbridled Thoroughbred Foundation to help give these beautiful horses a second chance. Since its construction, they tell us the stall has been a focal point of activities at Unbridled. Its occupant, Liam Let's Go aka "Liam" is a bit of a celebrity at the Sanctuary since he's the only boy horse among 18 mares. We're so glad to be a part of Liam's happy ending. Keep up this great and important work Unbridled!
