OUTSIDE SALESPERSON – WINDHAM

GNH Lumber & Home, the leading building supply and home improvement center in the Catskills has an employment opportunity for a qualified and motivated individual who wants to be part of our growing sales team.

We are in the process of expanding our sales team and are seeking a motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our existing group. This role focuses on prospecting and acquiring new customers while also increasing sales to existing clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outside sales, particularly in the construction or remodeling industries, and will thrive in a commission-driven environment.

To have success in this role you will have familiarity with the needs and challenges faced by small and mid-sized builders and have the willingness to offer solutions that GNH and our supplier partners can provide. He/She will look for opportunities to cross sell other GNH product/service offerings to deepen GNH’s relationship and increase share with customers. Having a strong customer service inclination will ensure a seamless transition into our customer focused sales team.

The right candidate will thrive being in the field talking with prospects and existing customers. A candidate that has had success and an on-going desire to support customers through the full lifecycle of a job will be able to fit seamlessly into the corporate culture of GNH Lumber & Home. Being self-directed while working within the framework of the company’s sales plan with the support of leadership will be important to the candidate’s success. Responsibilities

  • Prospect and pursue new business opportunities to acquire new customers.
  • Increase sales and cross-sell building materials to existing customers.
  • Spend approximately 85% of time on field sales activities, including cold calling and face-to-face meetings.
  • Dedicate 10%-15% of time to in-store team meetings, one-on-ones, and training sessions.
  • Build and cultivate a personal book of business.
  • Learn and master the company’s internal sales software.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of outside sales experience.
  • Sales experience in the lumber industry or related fields such as construction, hardware, or building materials.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire for building new relationships and consultative selling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling to contractors.
  • Familiarity with sales software and tools.

Kitchen & Bath Designer – Latham

GNH Lumber & Home, one of the leading building supply and kitchen & bath design centers in the Capital District and the Catskills has an employment opportunity for a qualified and motivated individual who want to be part of a strong team.

We are expanding our Kitchen & Bath design business and looking to add an experienced designer to complete the team. Reporting to the Kitchen & Bath Manager, the successful candidate will have experience working in a dynamic and collaborative design environment in a client facing role. The individual who will have success in this role has the ability to understand the varying needs of, and work seamlessly with, homeowners, contractors, and architects. He/she will have shown the desire to expand their knowledge and skill set through active participation in continuing career education. They will have also demonstrated the ability to proactively find, engage and steward new customers through the entire design process from ideation through construction completion.

With a focus on remodels and construction, our Kitchen & Bath Designers also assist customers looking to refresh their space. With a product offering from “entry-level” to custom, we pride ourselves on helping all clients with all aspects of their project.

The right candidate will have a strong knowledge with 3D design software such as 20/20. This candidate will thrive in a commission-driven environment that is perfect for a kitchen designer with proven experience and strong design skills. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining showroom hours to cater to clients’ needs
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and architects to create customized kitchen & bathroom designs
  • Guiding clients through the design and materials selection process
  • Managing client expectations and satisfaction from initial consultation to final installation
  • Collecting and compiling project information (i.e. measurements, pricing of materials with preferred vendors)
  • Selling full projects; This includes full order management after the sale
  • Traveling to jobsites as needed
  • Providing budgetary/design presentations in a timely manner
  • Maintain showroom (Keeping displays updated, samples stocked, cleanliness)
  • Continue education through trainings and local industry engagement (NKBA, CRBRA, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Residential remodeling industry knowledge – ASID or KNBA certification a plus!
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Outstanding design conceptualization skills
  • History of increasing sales in a kitchen & bath design environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with design software
  • Computer skills: excel, word, and outlook

Driver – Greenville Location – As a GNH Driver (Greenville), you will be responsible for delivering products safely and efficiently to jobsites in our service area. Committed to driver safety, GNH keeps its fleet of delivery trucks well-maintained and clean. As a GNH Driver, you’ll be home every night but have the opportunity to work overtime if desired. A Class B CDL license is required for this full-time position.
